Questions before booking a DJ – price, process, equipment, answered honestly

I offer you a personal, professional DJ service. It includes a personal consultation beforehand, travel within 50 km of Frankfurt as well as transport, setup and teardown of the equipment. My terms depend on the location, size and duration of your event and on the equipment needed. On that basis I put together an individual quote for you.

I don't offer flat rates. I work in the premium segment, and every wedding is different: location, size, duration and equipment determine the effort. After more than 1,545 weddings I know how much the DJ shapes the whole evening. Send me your date and your venue and you'll receive an individual quote.

My goal is to create a special atmosphere on the dance floor that invites you and your guests to dance all night long. If the party runs longer than planned, the fixed price per extra hour is already stated in your quote in advance. I always come to you 30 minutes before the agreed time ends to discuss an extension – so you keep an eye on the costs.

You'll hear back within 24 hours by email, phone, or both. Usually we talk on the phone first so I get an idea of your wishes and your event and can give you a first estimate of the price. If that suits you, we arrange a meeting at the venue to fine-tune everything on site. Afterwards you receive an email with all the details, your individual quote and the contract.

Yes, I even insist on it! First by phone and then ideally at the venue. We discuss which equipment is actually needed (depending on the venue), access routes for setup and teardown, venue specifics (noise protection etc.), the schedule of the celebration (start, reception, dinner, program items), music direction (what may be played and what not), first dance yes/no and which song, and whether further equipment is required (for performances by guests, bands, shows, a celebrant-led ceremony, etc.).

Of course! We get to know each other in person or by phone – ideally right at your venue. It matters to me that the chemistry is right before we work together.

I am fully insured and have a network of experienced DJ colleagues for emergencies. I have never missed an event in over 28 years.

I'm fully insured, including business liability insurance. That gives you and your venue additional peace of mind.

Music requests are of course taken into account – they belong at every celebration! After all, your guests should be able to party properly and enjoy one favourite song or another. In our consultation we go through your personal wish list and your no-go list. If a requested song doesn't fit the current flow, it goes on the list and gets played later – or we find an alternative together.

I cover a wide range: from charts and pop to R&B, hip-hop, house and electro, all the way to rock, 80s/90s/2000s classics, Latin and oriental music. Depending on the event and the crowd, I put together the right set for your guests.

Announcements and hosting on request – for example, at a wedding, introducing the couple, the first dance or special program highlights. We agree on exactly what will be announced in our consultation.

Yes! A microphone for speeches is always included. I bring a sound system suited to the size of the room and set it up, microphone included, for your room to avoid interference. I put together any further equipment individually in the quote. Lighting available on request.

I take my time so the sound system sounds good in the room. Depending on the venue, I plan 90–120 minutes for setting up your event equipment and 60–90 minutes for teardown.

Depending on the equipment, I only need a power socket (220–240 volts) on its own circuit and a rectangular table. I bring the equipment. In addition, about 1×1 metre of floor space per speaker (bass).

My core area is Frankfurt am Main and the entire Rhine-Main region (Mainz, Wiesbaden, Darmstadt, Offenbach, Hanau, Bad Homburg). I'm also available throughout Germany and internationally – including Mallorca, Switzerland and Austria. I have already performed in Dubai; I am available as far as New York City.

Travel within 50 km of Frankfurt am Main is included. If your venue is further away, I calculate travel individually in the quote.

The health of you and your guests matters to me – we all want to enjoy good music for a lifetime! After setup I adjust the sound system to the room to minimise disturbing background noise (e.g. rattling ventilation grilles). I agree on the volume with the venue in advance.

Appropriately for the occasion. I'm always smartly dressed in line with the dress code of the event – I wouldn't feel comfortable otherwise! Of course I'll clarify this with you beforehand.
